Experience the Wines of Paige 23
Classic elegance to accompany creative cuisine.

Recently highlighted in Savoir Magazine and the Los Angeles Times.

Paige 23's philosophy is that winemaking begins in the vineyard.
Each vine is treated with garden-like care. Paige 23 wines are elegant, crisp and very food-friendly.
A beautifully-made and complex series of wines expressing the fortunate terroir of Santa Barbara County.

Paige 23, Santa Ynez Valley (Santa Barbara County, California) Syrah Larner Vineyard "Hermitage Clone" 2005 ($30):
This wine is a pleasant departure from the direction of most Central Coast Syrah at the moment. This wine, from a cooler site in the Santa Ynez Valley, has a dusty persistence in its aroma, with earthy mushroomy accents surrounding black currant fruit. There's no jam, no fat on the palate; instead the wine's texture is succulent and vinous, with good acidity and lean in the finish. Quieter than most wines; you'll have to lean in to catch it.

Paige 23 is proud to announce the release of our new 2006 Paige 23 Pinot Noir-Santa Barbara County.  The grapes were grown at the old Carreaga Vineyard in Los Alamos, just North of Santa Rita Hills.  Framed with 25% new French oak, this pinot exhibits wonderful strawberry and cranberry notes with a touch of tea leaf and rose petals on the nose.  Built to last with good acidity and minerality, this wine again reminds us of some of the finer pinot noirs from Burgundy.  Only 300 cases made.

Paige 23 is has also released the 2007 Paige 23 Viognier-Santa Barbara County.  Made from grapes grown at Vogelzang Vineyards, this wine is the perfect summertime wine, built for fresh seafood and grilled chicken with garlic and Asian spices.  Made with no oak and no secondary fermentation, this wine is jumping out of the glass with aromas of fresh white peaches and apricots with undertones of crisp acidity and racy minerality.  A tiny production of only 100 cases was made.

Paige 23 would like to thank our friends at American Grocery in Greenville, South Carolina for inviting us to participate in a dinner with them at The James Beard House in New York City in early June.  Darlene and Joe Clarke worked hard to get American Grocery open and have taken South Carolina by storm.  Truly a wonderful restaurant specializing in cuisine featuring local food products cooked in a creative and honest way.

Paige 23 has been honored to participate in seven dinners, over the years, at the Beard House which is known as the culinary Mecca in the United States.  If there is an honor someone who makes wine might have, it is being recognized by our friends from the culinary world whom we are so humbled to be associated with.  We would like to thank each and every chef who has chosen Paige 23 to be a part of their restaurant experience.

Paige 23 is proud to announce the release of a new wine made from vines originally from the Hermitage region in the Northern Rhone Valley in central France. Our 2005 Syrah Noir from Stockwell Vineyards in Paso Robles is rich and full bodied, featuring a smoky character very familiar to fans of Crozes Hermitage and St. Joseph wines from that region.
We are also releasing our new 2005 Paige 23 Pinot Noir-Santa Rita Hills made from grapes grown at La Encantada Vineyards. This wine is full of bright fruit with a bouquet of rose petals and tea leaves framed with a small amount of new French oak offering great varietal character and crisp acidity that promises cellar aging ability.
We are also releasing our 2006 Chardonnay from Carreaga Vineyards in Los Alamos. Made with no oak and no secondary fermentation, this wine is ready for seafood, chicken and creamy butter sauces. Bright and fresh with great mouth/feel from bottle aging, this wine will be a great addition to any spring and summertime cooking.

We would like to thank Holly Smith at ENO at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel for featuring Paige 23 wines in a recent wine class at ENO and for making Paige 23 the featured winery for the month of October at the Ritz-Carlton.
